Martin Roolvink has been appointed Managing Director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Deutschland), effective 1 October 2026, as BSM moves to strengthen the integration of its ship management operations in Germany.

Roolvink will retain his existing role as Managing Director of Pronav Ship Management, bringing the two Schulte Group ship management centres in Germany under closer leadership.

He has led Pronav since early 2019, following Schulte Group’s acquisition of the specialist LNG ship manager in 2018. Pronav focuses on the management of large LNG carriers and FSRUs, while BSM Deutschland manages a broader fleet covering container ships, bulk carriers, tankers, offshore vessels and LNG bunker vessels.
The appointment therefore carries a wider strategic significance for BSM’s gas shipping platform.

BSM now manages more than 700 vessels globally, including more than 50 large LNG carriers, almost 30 LNG dual-fuel vessels and five LNG bunker vessels.
Under Roolvink’s leadership, BSM Deutschland and Pronav will deepen their collaboration and move towards closer organisational alignment, while existing customer teams, projects and service arrangements will remain unchanged.
Roolvink succeeds Nick Topham, who is stepping down after eight years as Managing Director in Germany.

The move comes as LNG shipping, LNG bunkering and increasingly complex dual-fuel fleets are placing greater demands on specialised technical management — making gas shipping expertise an increasingly important part of the global third-party ship management market.
