China Merchants Energy Shipping Establishes European Marketing Hub in London to Expand Global Reach
China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. (CMES) has officially established its European Marketing Hub in London, strengthening its overseas presence and enhancing its ability to serve customers across Europe and surrounding markets.
The inauguration ceremony was held in London on October 11. CMES General Manager Wang Yongxin, together with senior representatives from the maritime industry, including China Shipowners’ Mutual Assurance Association Chairman Xu Lirong, COSCO Shipping (Europe) General Manager Qian Ming, and Yuan Bo, Assistant General Manager of CMES and General Manager of Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping, attended the event and unveiled the new hub.
London Becomes New Platform for European Expansion
The newly established CMES European Marketing Hub is located in London, one of the world’s most influential maritime and financial centers.
The new platform will focus on strengthening CMES’s connection with European customers, improving localized service capabilities, and promoting closer cooperation with partners across the region.
By establishing a dedicated presence in London, CMES aims to enhance market responsiveness and provide more efficient services to customers in Europe and neighboring markets.
Supporting CMES’s Globalization Strategy
The establishment of the European Marketing Hub represents another important step in CMES’s international development strategy.
As a major Chinese shipping company with global operations, CMES has continued to expand its international network and strengthen its competitiveness across key shipping sectors, including crude oil transportation, dry bulk shipping, and specialized shipping services.
The new London-based hub will serve as a bridge between CMES and the European maritime community, supporting business development, customer engagement, and regional cooperation.
Deepening Integration into Global Maritime Ecosystem
London remains a critical global shipping cluster, bringing together shipowners, charterers, financial institutions, insurers, brokers, legal firms, and maritime service providers.
Establishing the European Marketing Hub in London will allow CMES to further integrate into the international maritime ecosystem, strengthen communication with global partners, and capture new market opportunities.
CMES said the move will help accelerate its overseas localized operations, enhance cross-regional business coordination, and contribute to its goal of becoming a world-class shipping company.
Representatives from CMES and its subsidiaries, China Shipowners’ Mutual Assurance Association, and COSCO Shipping Europe attended the inauguration ceremony.
