XIN HAI TONG 801 Rescues 41 People in the Mediterranean
Fujian Highton Development said its bulk carrier XIN HAI TONG 801 rescued 41 people in distress in the Mediterranean Sea on 8 June 2026.
The vessel received instructions from the Egyptian MRCC during a normal voyage and immediately launched its emergency response procedures.
Despite poor visibility at night and complex sea conditions, the crew safely brought all 41 people onboard, provided food, clothing, medical observation and isolation arrangements, and maintained round-the-clock watch.
On 10 June, the vessel berthed at East Port Said bulk terminal, where all rescued people disembarked safely and were handed over to the Egyptian authorities.
Highton Development said the operation reflected the crew's humanitarian spirit and the company's effective ship-shore emergency coordination.
