Greek Owner Returns to China for New Kamsarmax Pair
Greek shipowner Iolcos Hellenic Maritime Enterprises returns to newbuilding market after 3 years, placing order in China.
Jiangsu New Dayang Shipbuilding wins contract for two 82,000 DWT Kamsarmax bulk carriers.
Signed in early 2026, delivery scheduled for 2029.
This marks Iolcos’ second cooperation with Jiangsu shipyards, following 3 similar vessels delivered in 2023.
Greek owners have now placed at least 13 Kamsarmax newbuilding orders in China in 2026, with total dry bulk investment exceeding $2 billion.
