China files complaint to WTO against US tariff proposals xinde marine news 2018-07-17 16:22

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said on Monday that it has filed a complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding the United States' proposal to slap additional tariffs on 200 billion dollars' worth of China goods.

China said that the U.S. is disregarding established world trade rules and China has a right to protect its own economy.

The MOFCOM said last week that China would immediately file a complaint to the WTO against U.S. unilateralism. In the statement it illuminates that U.S.' accusation of China gaining extra advantage through unfair trade practice is a distortion of facts and hence is groundless.
