CHI obtained China first four-stroke engine ammonia supply system AIP Xinde Marine News Vivian Xu 2022-10-14 11:35

On October 12, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry's (CHI) "ammonia dual fuel engine and supply system research and demonstration project" made progress, the project's first ammonia diesel dual fuel testing machine steel cutting in Shanghai Jiao Tong University and obtained the AIP certificate of ammonia supply system design.
 
China Classification Society and American Bureau of Shipping awarded the AIP certificate of ammonia-fueled tug design and the AIP certificate of ammonia supply system design to COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) and COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Technology (Weihai). COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has become the first enterprise in the world to obtain the AIP certificate of ammonia-fueled tug design and the in China.
 
COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have established the first ammonia diesel dual fuel engine system with a set of SCR post-processing equipment in the world. The system achieves stable operation under 80% energy replacement, reaching the international leading level.
