On June 8, with the approval of the Ministry of Transport of China, the "International Forum on the Education and Development of Women in Maritime" held online by Dalian Maritime University.
 
More than 150 delegates from China, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Russia, Australia, South Korea and other countries, as well as the Secretariat of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the World Maritime University (WMU) attended the forum.
 
Under the theme of "Empowering Women for Maritime Prosperity", the forum aims to respond to the IMO's first International Day for Women in Maritime by understanding and discussing the difficulties and challenges faced by women in the maritime industry, raising awareness of women in maritime industry and promoting the development of maritime industry.
 
Compared with men, women's participation in maritime is still relatively low. It is believed and proved that women are fully competent for all posts in maritime industry, especially substantive work.
 
It is expected that more and more women in China and around the world will participate in maritime industry more deeply and extensively.
