On March 11, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry and China Shipbuilding Trading successfully undertook the new construction project of 2 + 2 7100TEU container ships of Greek shipowner Danaos.

The ship type contracted this time adopts the design of the new generation 7100TEU container ship of SDARI, which meets the requirements of IMO Tier III emission standard and EEDI Phase III, and has the performance advantages of energy conservation and environmental protection.
Danaos is one of the largest independent container ship owners in the world, with a total of 71 container ships ranging from 2200TEU to 13100TEU, and has long-term ship chartering contracts with many head liner companies.

After the 2 + 2 7100TEU container ships come into effect, the cumulative undertaking volume of the same type ships of DSIC will reach 10, continuing to be the first echelon of the global medium-sized container ship newbuilding market.
