CSSC's new ship orders exceed 100 billion xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-09-17 17:05

China State Shipbuilding Corporation officially announced that the group's civil  shipbuilding and offshore orders have exceeded 100 billion, and completed its annual business target four months ahead of schedule.

According to statistics, by the end of August this year, CSSC had undertaken 303 ships and offshore projects with 21.52 million DWT. This is another advance after the completion of the annual business undertaking tasks set at the beginning of the year eight months ahead of schedule in April this year. The adjusted annual business undertaking plan was completed, and the total undertaking amount has set a new record for the group company in recent ten years.

CSSC said that as of August 2021, the three major shipbuilding indicators of CSSC had maintained the world's leading level. In terms of deadweight, the shipbuilding completion volume, orders undertaken and hand-held orders accounted for 19.9%, 24.9% and 21.7% of the global ship market share respectively, ranking the first largest shipbuilding group in the world.

However, it is worth noting that the new orders taken by CSSC are calculated in DWT. If calculated in the amount of orders taken, CSSC is less than Hyundai Heavy Industries of South Korea. According to statistics, by the end of August this year, Hyundai Heavy Industries had received $19.2 billion in new ship orders, about 124 billion yuan.
