Evergreen Marine's net profit after tax in March increased by 2144.02% year-on-year; Yang Ming Marine's net profit after tax in March increased by 2046.32% year-on-year.
 
Evergreen Marine and Yang Ming Marine respectively announced March results.
 
According to the announcement, Evergreen's operating revenue in March was about NT $32.18 billion, or about US $1.15 billion, up 134.05% from a year earlier.
 
The company's net profit after tax in March was NT $13.51 billion, or about $480million, up 2144.02% from the same period last year.
 
In addition, the operating income of Yangming shipping in March was about NT $21billion, or about $750million, an increase of 90.4% compared with the same period last year.
After tax net profit of Yang Ming in March was NT $7.94 billion, about US $280 million, up 2046.3% year on year.
 
In 2020, the performance of the two companies also increased significantly, benefiting from the high freight rates in the market.
 
In 2020, Evergreen realized operating income of about NT $207.07 billion, about US $7.28 billion, an increase of 9% year-on-year. The net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company was about NT $24.36 billion, or about US $860 million.
 
In 2020, Yang Ming realized operating income of about NT $151280million, about US $5.11 billion, an increase of 1.4% year on year. The net profit attributable to the parent company's owners is about NT $11.98 billion, or about $400million.
