On January 18, China Shipbuilding Trading, Jiangnan Shipyard and Oriental Petroluem (Yangtze) Limited signed a contract for the construction of two 93,000 m3 VLGCs in Nanjing.

This type of ship is the fourth-generation upgraded version of VLGC Panda ®93P,which is independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard. This is the second contract signed by CSTC/Jiangnan Shipyard in this type of ship field.

The 93,000 m3 VLGC is the most efficient dual-fuel VLGC in the world, and its comprehensive economic and technical performance indicators, such as speed and fuel consumption, are at the leading level in the industry.

This cooperation is the second time that Jiangnan Shipyard and Oriental Petroleum have joined hands. Oriental Petroleum placed an order for two 84,000 m3 VLGCs in Jiangnan Shipyard in 2018, and the two vessels were delivered and put into operation last year.

The two VLGCs ordered by Oriental Petroleum will be delivered to Oriental Energy to support polypropylene project under construction in Maoming, Guangdong Province, providing more flexibility for Oriental Energy's LPG trade.

At present, Jiangnan Shipyard has ordered 17 VLGCs, accounting for 46% of the total global VLGC hand-held orders, ranking first in the world.
