Liner ship line linking Zhanjiang, Shanghai launched Chinadaily 2020-04-30 10:58

The direct liner ship line that links Zhanjiang in Guangdong province and Shanghai was officially launched with the Dong Run 5 liner ship from Shanghai berthing at the Baoman Container Terminal at Zhanjiang Port on April 26.

This is the third ship route opened by Zhanjiang Port Group in response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic and to expand its market.

Products like sugar, paper products, coil steel, kaolin, quartz sand, and frozen aquatic products from Zhanjiang and its surrounding areas can reach the Port of Shanghai in 4.5 days and then be transported to inland ports in Wuhan, Hubei province, Chongqing, and Luzhou, Sichuan province, reducing transportation time and lowering costs.

The direct liner ship line between Zhanjiang and Shanghai is operated by Quanzhou Antong Logistics Co Ltd. Three vessels with a container capacity of 1,400 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) will be arranged to commute along the route and will depart every four days.

The launching of the liner ship line strengthens the logistics connection between the western area of Guangdong and the Yangtze River Delta, as well as the western regions, adding a new and powerful impetus to the container business of Zhanjiang Port, said the relevant person in charge of Zhanjiang Port Group.
