1. On December 19, SWS Shipbuilding formally signed a new contract for the construction of two 210 million ton Newcastlemax bulk carriers in New York City with the Foremost Group.


 
2. Mr. Huang Xiaowen, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING, met with Mr. Samuel Dossou-Aworet, Chairman of Petrolin Group. The two sides fully exchanged views on business cooperation in Benin and rest of the African continent. 
 
3. South Korea's Hyundai Merchant HMM is about to order over 20000-teu ultra-large container ships. 
Recently, South Korean media further disclosed the HMM's more detailed shipbuilding plan: including twelve 20000-teu class ultra-large container ships and eight 13000-teu ships, which are expected to be concretely implemented by the middle of next year.
 
4. On December 19, at 14:36 on December 19, CMA CGM JACQUES JOSEPH, the 9400-teu container ship No. 4 ship built by COSCO Yangzhou Heavy Industry for the CMA CGM, was successfully delivered in Changxing, Shanghai.
 
5.The Maritime Energy Transition Outlook (ETO) describes the consequences of the energy transition for the maritime industry, looking at goods to be transported within and between regions, and the types of vessels needed.
 
6.DNV GL: Energy transition changes the shape, but not the importance of shipping to the global economy.
DNV GL published the Maritime Forecast to 2050 which analyses the impact of the changing global energy system on the shipping industry through to 2050.
