Sinopec Shanghai began to produce low-sulfur fuels xinde marine news 2019-01-25 19:27

After nearly half a year of project research and renovation of facilities, Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. began to produce low-sulfur heavy marine fuel oil from January 18, becoming the first domestic refining and chemical enterprise to produce the oil. On January 23, the first batch of 6,000 tons of fuel oil was shipped from the factory, and the global ship fuel supply center of Sinopec Fuel Oil Company will be responsible for the trial of ships on international routes.
According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, since January 1, 2020, ships worldwide must use marine fuel oil with a sulfur content of no more than 0.5%. Compared with the current sulphur content of marine fuel oil not higher than 3.5%, it will drop by 86%. This will greatly promote the protection of the environment.
According to market demand at home and abroad, Sinopec requires that in 2019, it will try to replace the supply of low-sulfur heavy marine fuel oil.
Based on the advantages of sufficient refining and chemical processing capacity and coastal location, Shanghai Petrochemical took the lead in researching the formulation of low-sulfur marine fuel oil with Sinopec Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology. In September last year, after the process was adjusted and sampled, the analysis showed that the hydroreactor sample basically met the production conditions.
According to the test data, combined with its own product structure and technical characteristics, the company has developed a trial production plan for residual oil hydrogenation and low-sulfur marine fuel oil, and carried out a series of transformations on the production site of the plant. Finally, it successfully organized on the No. 6 refinery unit. produce.
Almost in sync with scientific research, with the advantage of Sinopec's integration, Shanghai Petrochemical actively cooperated with Sinopec Fuel Oil Company to carry out a large number of preliminary work to seize the global ship oil supply market. (Finish)
