In December 2018, Shell awarded CIMC Raffles “Safety Recognition Award”, affirming CIMC Raffles' safety management in the keel lay of Penguins FPSO. The successful completion of this milestone marks the entry of the project into the hull erection stage, which is the most critical period for project safety.

Penguins FPSO is cylindrical design with a daily processing capacity of up to 45,000 barrels. It will be the first FPSO that Shell is deploying in the North Sea for nearly 30 years. This FPSO is jointly constructed by COOEC and CIMC Raffles. CIMC Raffles provided technical consultation for hull construction, and twice received the “monthly excellent subcontractor” award from COOEC.

Safety is the lifeline of the oil and gas industry. At present, a strong HSE management system has become the admission criteria to the international oil market. As one of the largest oil companies in the world, Shell's HSE management system sets the benchmark of safety management in the oil and gas industry. CIMC Raffles penguin project team adapts the company's HSE policy, to fulfill the requirements of world-class companies like Shell, FLUOR, COOEC and other international companies. Setting safety themes according to the characteristics of different construction stages and continuously improving the safety awareness of on-site construction. CIMC Raffles and COOEC jointly construct a safe and high quality FPSO for Shell.
