CMG Executive names the CMES “Ore Shanghai" Vessel xinde marine news 2018-12-11 10:40


Mr Wang Hong, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group (CMG) attended and named the new VLOC on the delivery and naming ceremony at the Taicang base of Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Ltd. The new VLOC, namely “Ore Shanghai”, is a joint venture between CMES and ICBC Leasing. It is a second generation 400,000 DWT VLOC. Mr Ren Yuanlin, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Chairman, Mr Wang Zhenyong, ICBC Leasing Deputy CEO and Mr Fan Qiang, China Classification Society Vice President gave speeches at the ceremony. Also in attendance was Mr Zhao Yaoming, head of CMG’s Safety Supervision department.
 
Mr Wang mentioned in his speech that the “Ore Shanghai” is fully designed and built in China. Despite of an upgrade in structure and performance safety, the ship has also advanced its feature in efficiency, environmental friendliness, energy efficiency and safety. It is the largest VLOC in operation of the China-Brazil route. The completion of “Ore Shanghai” brings the group one step closer to implement CMES’ Big Customer strategy. It is also the fruit of cooperation between CMES, ICBC Leasing and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group Ltd. which helped set the ground of forging a world-class VLOC fleet.
 
Mr Ding Lei, General Manager of Hong Kong Ming Wah, signed the delivery documents on behalf of the shipowners at the ceremony. Mrs Dai Xuezhao cut the cord for the new vessel. The leadership in attendance also boarded the ship and exchanged ideas with the crew.
