Hengli Heavy Industry: Powering the Future of Green Shipbuilding Xinde Marine News Chen Yang 2025-08-14 09:31

Last week, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the scale and ambition behind Hengli Heavy Industry’s latest developments — and it’s safe to say, they are redefining what a modern shipbuilding powerhouse looks like.

From its mirror-polished engine assembly halls to a rapidly expanding portfolio of next-gen, low-emission propulsion systems, Hengli is moving fast. The new production lines are already rolling out milestones like China’s first 8G95 LNG dual-fuel engine and upcoming LPG dual-fuel models, meeting the latest IMO environmental standards and driving the green transition of global shipping.

At the recent Hengli Green Marine Power Development Conference, nearly 200 representatives from leading shipowners, shipyards, and financial institutions gathered to explore opportunities in clean propulsion. Visitors toured the company’s “Future Factory” — equipped with world-class shipyards, automated production lines, and dual 860-meter docks — all built for high-efficiency, high-precision output.

The numbers are staggering:
Orders booked until 2029
Up to 180 marine engines/year when at full capacity
Capable of producing LNG, LPG, methanol, and ammonia dual-fuel engines
Among the largest single-site ship and engine production bases in the world
With strategic financing, government support, and a clear focus on high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing, Hengli is not just building ships — it’s helping shape the future of the maritime industry.
