Athens-based Erasmus Shipinvest Group has officially made its debut in the tanker market, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing diversification strategy.
The shipping group, led by CEO John Su, has acquired the 8,000-dwt bunkering vessel Marine Parade (built 2018), previously trading as Mimosa under Nautilus Shipping. The vessel will operate in the Singapore Strait, supplying conventional bunkers — a move described by the company as a “historic moment” in its transition into the product tanker segment.
This latest addition follows years of strategic transformation by Erasmus, which has evolved from a dry bulk operator into a multi-segment owner focused on small and medium-sized ships. Its current portfolio spans:
20+ pressurised LPG carriers, primarily Japanese-built
Feeder container ships, under its newly formed Erasmus Container Lines
Multipurpose vessels (MPP), including the 13,500-dwt Ocean Echo
Now, product tankers, starting with Marine Parade
Erasmus said it will continue to explore opportunities in the product tanker market, maintaining its focus on scalable, flexible assets that can adapt to today’s increasingly fragmented and regionalized trade landscape.
This expansion aligns with the company’s broader vision to build a resilient, diversified fleet optimized for long-term returns and operational agility.
