1.The procedure requiring a document to transfer a cargo container, used at Shanghai Port for nearly three decades, has finally been retired with the introduction of automation and the paperless procedure is just one of the latest efforts made by Shanghai to develop a smart port.
 
2.China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) will team up with city gas distributor China Gas Holdings to transport 1,000 LNG tank containers from its terminal in Hainan province to Hebei this winter.
 
3.China State Shipbuilding Corp is designing what it says is the world's most advanced rescue ship, and plans to commission it around 2021.
 
4.In a break from tradition, Beijing has for the first time allowed companies registered in the free trade zone in eastern China's Zhejiang province to blend tax-free fuel oil for export to the seaborne market.The relaxation of the export restriction will encourage more fuel oil trade flows from China for bunkering, industry sources told S&P Global Platts this week.
 
5.Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that the Ice-Breaking LNG Carrier "Vladimir Rusanov", which is jointly owned by MOL and China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited for the Yamal LNG project, made its first call at PetroChina LNG Jiangsu Terminal in China on 17 July.
 
6.Under the low ebb of tanker industry,Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation has warned it is expecting to record an interim loss of between Rmb235m (US$34.5m) to Rmb305m, compared to a net profit of RMb865m notched up in the same peried in 2017.
 
7.Imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) into China during the month of June have risen compared to the corresponding period last year.
 
8.By 2020, more than 85% wharves in Ningbo will be able to supply shore power to berthed vessels.
