On October 28, Shandong Shipping Corporation (SSC) took a significant step towards strengthening collaboration within China's maritime sector by signing a Deepened Cooperation Implementation Agreement with Sinopec Fuel Oil Sales Company and Sinopec Lubricant Company at the Qingdao International Shipping Center.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by SSC Chairman Gao Changfeng, Sinopec Fuel Oil Executive Director Yang Junze, and Sinopec Lubricant General Manager Zhang Chunhui. SSC’s General Manager Xu Tao, along with senior leaders from Sinopec Fuel Oil and Lubricant divisions, represented each organization in formalizing this commitment to closer ties.

Driving Innovation in Maritime Services
Under this agreement, the three state-owned enterprises will leverage their unique resources and strengths to enhance areas such as ship management, integrated fuel and lubricant supply, maritime support services, and the development of alternative marine fuels. This strategic partnership aims to build a globally integrated supply-demand ecosystem, furthering their role as industry leaders in sustainable and reliable maritime operations.

Collaborating for Supply Chain Stability
In response to the global geopolitical landscape, the partnership will also focus on establishing a stable regional supply network, promoting the “national fleet, national supply” and “national oil, national shipping” initiatives. Together, SSC and Sinopec are committed to exploring both domestic and international markets, ensuring the resilience of the supply and industrial chains.

Prior to the signing, Sinopec representatives toured SSC’s Blue Industrial Park at the International Shipping Center to discuss future initiatives and opportunities for resilient, long-term strategic partnerships.

A New Era of Sustainable Shipping
This collaboration marks a critical move toward building a robust and sustainable future for China’s shipping industry. Stay tuned as SSC and Sinopec take on new challenges and opportunities in maritime innovation.
