Four Chinese nationals missing after dredger, tanker collide in Singapore waters

 

Four Chinese crew members of a Dominican-registered dredger(JBB DE RONG 19) are missing after a collision with an Indonesian-registered tanker (KARTIKA SEGARA )in Singapore's territorial waters on Wednesday, the Chinese Embassy in Singapore said after receiving a notice from the Police Coast Guard of Singapore.
Seven other Chinese nationals have been rescued, and one Malaysian is still missing.
The accident took place at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. The dredger was carrying 12 crew, 11 Chinese nationals and one Malaysian, at the time of incident.
Search and rescue operations are underway.
