On August 30, China State Shipbuilding Corporation released its 2023 semi annual report, with a year-on-year increase of 182.46% in net profit for the first half of the year, reaching 553 million yuan.
 
The report shows that in the first half of 2023, CSSC achieved a revenue of 30.526 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.48%. Among them, the revenue from shipbuilding and offshore business was 28.144 billion yuan, and the revenue from mechanical and electrical equipment business was 894 million yuan.
 
In terms of shipbuilding and offshore business, in the first half of the year, the company’s shipbuilding business received a total of 88 civilian ship orders/6.1917 million dwt, an increase of 61.49% compared with the same period of the previous year; The ship repair business has undertaken 179 ship repairs/1145 million yuan, with a contract amount of 65.43% of the annual plan.
 
As of the end of June 2023, the company had a total of 264 shipbuilding orders/19.3378 million dwt, 83 ship repair orders/1.368 billion yuan, offshore equipment contract orders worth 4.543 billion yuan, and electromechanical equipment contract orders worth 2.424 billion yuan.
