The first batch of new energy vehicles (NEVs) produced by SERES Group, a carmaker based in Chongqing, were exported to Europe via Qingdao Port of Shandong Port Group (SPG) on July 24, demonstrating that SPG has made initial success in building a modern automobile supply chain system.

SPG is located at the intersection of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, and has been dubbed as a "dual-node" for the new development paradigm. It also serves as a "bridgehead" of Japan, South Korea and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, or RCEP.

In addition, SPG has dominant advantages in developing commercial vehicle logistics, and it is the most convenient shipping outlet in the Yellow River basin.

Currently, SPG has built a modern automobile supply chain system connecting the country's important automobile industry areas, such as Shandong, Jiangsu, and Henan, with consumers in Europe, Japan and South Korea, Africa, South America, and the middle East.

As a key logistics hub for the global supply chain, SPG has made great efforts to expand and deepen global operations by strengthening its ties with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

SPG will continue to make efforts to build an integrated supply chain to boost the high-quality development of China's automobile industry.
