NACKS' "Intelligent Ship System Development and Application" Project Wins 2023 Special Achievement Award for Transportation Industry Equipment Management and Technology Innovation COSCO SHIPPING 2023-07-31 11:49

Recently, Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering's (NACKS) "Intelligent Ship System Development and Application" project was awarded the 2023 Special Achievement Award for Transportation Industry Equipment Management and Technology Innovation. This recognition was given after a thorough evaluation by the expert panel of the China Association of Plant Engineering (CAPE).

The intelligent ship system serves as a platform for shipping companies to easily manage ship operations.

NACKS has been actively involved in collecting and analyzing ship operation data since 2008. In 2014, they formed a dedicated research and development team to officially initiate the project.

The field of intelligent ship technology encompasses various disciplines, including ship design, dynamic composition, state perception, information processing, communication control, risk identification, and artificial intelligence.

The team members demonstrated their dedication to craftsmanship by researching large-scale shipping data structures extensively and integrating computer and shipbuilding technology. As a result, they successfully developed the first-generation system and established a partnership with COSCO SHIPPING Lines in July 2017 to implement the intelligent ship system on real ships.

The initial system was installed on M.V. COSCO NETHERLANDS and has since undergone a second round of upgrades. It has been successfully applied to three main types of ships: bulk carriers, oil tankers, and container ships. One of these ships has been recognized as Class NK's first digital intelligent ship in China.
