On May 10, 2023, relevant leaders of the Central Organization Department attended a meeting of leading cadres of the Ministry of Transport and announced the central decision: Comrade Yang Chuantang will no longer serve as Party Secretary of Ministry of Transport, and Comrade Li Xiaopeng will serve as Party Secretary of Ministry of Transport.

Li Xiaopeng, male, was born in June 1959 in Chengdu, Sichuan. He joined the CPC in May 1985 and started working in August 1982. He has a university degree and is a senior engineer.
 
He served as Deputy Party Secretary of Ministry of Transport from August 2016 to September 2016. From September 2016 to present, he has served as Minister and Deputy Party Secretary of Ministry of Transport. And Assumed a new position in May 2023.
