Silk Road Shipping e-commerce express line delivers 20,000 TEUs CCTV 2023-02-21 13:44

China's first cross-border e-commerce express line of the "Silk Road Shipping" has delivered over 20,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of goods, worth more than eight billion yuan (1.17 billion U.S. dollars), since it was launched on June 10, 2022 in Xiamen, a port city in east China's Fujian Province.

The Silk Road Shipping is an alliance jointly initiated in late 2018 by dozens of ports, carriers and logistics service providers in countries along the Belt and Road. After the opening of the express line owned by the integrated logistics service brand, it takes only two days to ship e-commerce goods from Xiamen and neighboring areas to Manila in the Phillippines.

Under the alliance with more than 300 members, there are 94 shipping routes linking 108 ports of 31 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Xiamen is an important port for the Belt and Road Initiative.
