On February 17, the inaugural ceremony of Pingtan International Marine Shipowner Association was held in Fujian Province.

The association already owns more than 200 vessels of various ship types such as VLCC, CAPE dry bulk vessels and container ships, with a deadweight ton of about 20 million tons. Pingtan International Marine Shipowner Association is also China's first flag of convenience shipowners association specializing in international shipping services.

Pingtan is the closest part of mainland from China to Taiwan. In the future, it will develop ro-ro ship, container, bulk and general cargo transportation to Taiwan.
