Forum Introduction
Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, it would thoroughly implement the strategic deployment of CPC Central Committee and the State Council on building China into a strong maritime country, as well as the spirit of Xi Jinping’s important speeches concerning the maritime development. Leaded by construction of modern coastal metropolis, also with focus on the maritime communication, integration of legal and commercial services, and the international cooperation as the primary tasks, it would persist in the achievement of advanced international criteria, the integration of port, industry, city and culture, the leadership of scientific and technological innovation, as well as the harmonious coexistence of mankind and the sea, thus strive to make new progress in exploring and building a pilot area for national marine economy practice, achieve new breakthroughs in creating green and sustainable development of the marine economy, and make new contribution to accelerating the construction of a global marine central city.
The International Marine Economy and Maritime Services Forum, as jointly hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the People's Government of Ningbo Municipality, aims to promote the "stepping up efforts to build China into a strong Maritime country", practically carry forward the co-construction of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, support China to deeply participate in the formulating and implementing international ocean governance mechanism and relevant rules, promote the establishment of an equitable and reasonable international maritime order, thus build maritime community with a shared future.
By adhering to the concept of "Green, Integration, Innovation and Cooperation", the Forum takes marine communication, integration of legal and commercial services, and international cooperation as the primary tasks, cooperates with the Ministry of Transport, the State Oceanic Administration, and invites the United Nations, the international maritime organizations, the international shipping organization, the international business association, foreign embassies and consulates in China, the Fortune Global 500 companies to participate in. Through the creation of brand, the gathering of popularity and the expansion of network, it aims at building this forum into a well-known international platform integrating functions of maritime economic exchanges & cooperation and maritime services. The forum has been held in Ningbo for five consecutive times from 2022 to 2026.
The Forum is composed of the opening ceremony, the main forum and five sub-forums, which will be provided through the integration of online and offline forms. Centering on the global ocean governance and the construction of global marine central city, the Forum will conduct communication and discussion on topics related to marine economy.
