Another 2+2 LNG order! CMES multi-directional deepen cooperation with DSIC Xinde Marine News Vivian Xu 2022-09-26 15:54

On September 24, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry (DSIC) named and delivered a 300,000DWT VLCC "NEW ADEN" to China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES). On the same day, CMES signed another new construction project of 2+2 175,000 m3 LNG carriers with DSIC.
The NEW ADEN is 333 meters in length, 60 meters in width and 30 meters in depth, with a designed draft of 20.5 meters, classified into CCS. It equipped with two pairs of new generation huge hard wing sails. Taking the economical speed operation of the Middle East to Far East route as an example, the use of the sails is expected to achieve an annual average fuel consumption saving of over 9.8%. Reduce carbon emissions by more than 2,900 tons.
On March 31, CMES signed a construction project of two 175,000 m3 LNG carriers and buyer's option order (the buyer has the right to choose whether to build the agreed ship at the agreed price within a certain period of time) was signed for two 175,000 m3 LNG carriers with DSIC. On September 24, CMES exercised the ship construction option, ordered two 175,000 m3 LNG carriers from DSIC and signed the Ship Construction Agreement. On the same day, CMES signed another new construction project of 2+2 175,000 m3 LNG carriers with DSIC.
On the same day, the signing ceremony of the relocation, construction project and the Central Enterprise support for the construction of Taiping Bay was held. China Merchants Group, The People's Government of Dalian Municipality and DSIC signed a strategic cooperation agreement and "relocation, construction project of DSIC on Taiping Bay high-end ship final assembly construction base cooperation agreement.
 
Taiping Bay Cooperative Innovation Zone is a key industrial project jointly built by China Merchants Group, Liaoning Province and The People's Government of Dalian Municipality. The relocation, construction project of DSIC is a major strategic cooperation project to deepen cooperation between China Merchants Group, CSSC and Dalian. The direct investment scale of the factory is about 20 billion yuan, and the annual shipbuilding capacity is estimated to be 2.6 million DWT.
 
CMES will continue to lead the development of green VLCC, and carry out green cutting-edge technology application on ships together with DSIC.
