On September 22, 2020, China proposed the action plan for carbon dioxide peaking before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060 at the General Assembly of the United Nations

After two years of work, in 2021, the carbon emission intensity and total carbon emission of Guangzhou Shipyard International reduced by 38.5% and 8.1% respectively, and strive to achieve the dual carbon goals.

In the first half of 2022, carbon emission intensity and total carbon emissions reduced by 8.7% and 13.6% year-on-year, respectively.

In 2023, the carbon emission intensity will drop by nearly 50% compared with that before the treatment, basically reaching the goal of "building another GSI" in four years.
