Chinese coast guard ships complete law-enforcement patrol in North Pacific CCTV 2022-09-02 11:43

Two China Coast Guard (CCG) ships on Wednesday returned to Qingdao Port in east China's Shandong Province after successfully completing a 45-day fishery law enforcement patrol in the high seas of the North Pacific.

The mission marked CCG's seventh patrol in the North Pacific and the successful completion of this year's mission in the area.

The 15,000 nautical miles of voyage, which clocked up some 2,000 hours, was the second patrol of the two vessels of "Changshan" and "Shicheng", after they were registered with the North Pacific Fisheries Commission and obtained the authorization to board and inspect fishing vessels in the North Pacific.

The patrol was carried out in accordance with the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean.

During the mission, a total of 180 fishing vessels were documented, 20 vessels were questioned and five were boarded and inspected.
