World's First Traditional Container Terminal Completes Automation Upgrades COSCO SHIPPING 2022-07-13 09:37

On July 1, a ceremony to commemorate automation upgrades at the world's first traditional container terminal was held in Tianjin. Vice Mayor of Tianjin Municipality and Vice Chairman of the Municipal CPPCC Committee Mr. Sun Wenkui was present at the event, and Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Mr. Wan Min attended the event virtually from Shanghai.

The full completion of the automation upgrades at the world's first traditional container terminal is the result of the cooperation between COSCO SHIPPING, Tianjin Port Group and China Merchants Group. The full completion of the project marks the large-scale application of the “Tianjin Solution” for the upgrade of traditional container terminals for total automated operation at the largest container terminal in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and provides a successful example for the automation of traditional container terminals throughout the world. It will also establish a new benchmark for the construction of smart ports and green ports, as well as a new model of cooperation between central enterprises and local governments.
