Recently, HNA Technology announced that it plans to purchase 6 bulk carriers from Vanhui Resources (HK), Van Auspicious LTD, Van Duffy Limited, Van General Limited and Van Continent Limited for US$106 million.
After the completion of this transaction, the company's total shipping capacity will reach 9 ships, about 750,000 dwt, thus forming the main business of shipping and dry bulk transportation.
The underlying assets of this transaction are the six ships of VAN AUSPICIOUS, VANBONITA, VAN DUFFY, VAN ENTERNITY, VAN GENERAL and VAN CONTINENT).
Regarding this transaction, HNA Technology said, "The company has judged that the demand for three types of dry bulk cargoes of iron ore, grain and coal will form a strong support for the chartering rates of dry bulk carriers.”
HNA Technology intends to further increase the company's shipping capacity through this transaction and improve the company's competitive position in the shipping industry.
