On June 28, 2022, China Merchants Energy Shipping, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry and China Shipbuilding Trading signed two 115,000 DWT crude carrier construction contracts in Shenzhen, Dalian and Shanghai through the "cloud signing" method.

The two 115,000 DWT crude carriers signed this time are the new Aframax vessels independently developed and designed by DSIC. They meet the requirements of the latest international conventions and specifications, and have excellent safety, energy conservation, environmental protection and port suitability.

The successful signing of this project will help CMES to optimize and adjust the structure of its tanker fleet and further enhance the overall core competitiveness of the fleet.
