Recently, the Ministry of Transport of China and other four departments issued opinions of The State Council on Carbon peak and Carbon Neutral work, in order to accelerate the green and low-carbon transport and earnestly do a good job in carbon peak and carbon neutral transport, many of which involve the shipbuilding industry.
Develop actively new and clean energy means of transport. China will carry out trials of ships powered by pure electric power, hydrogen fuel cells and renewable synthetic fuel in an orderly manner. Explore the application of new power ships such as methanol, hydrogen and ammonia, and promote the application of liquefied natural gas power ships.
Strengthen transportation electrification alternatives. China will promote the use of shore power for ships berthing at ports and continuously increase the utilization rate of shore power.
Raise fuel efficiency standards for ships. Formulate energy efficiency design index requirements for new ships and study the incorporation of technical regulations to guide the industry to select and use high energy efficiency ships. We will accelerate the upgrading of old means of transport and improve the energy utilization of transport equipment.
