China's largest one-time LNG ship order takes effect Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2022-04-29 16:29

On April 28, the signing ceremony of CNOOC's medium and long-term FOB resource supporting LNG transportation project (phase II) was successfully held.

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading, as joint sellers, and the buyer representative NYK Line, signed a contract for the construction of 6 large-scale 174,000 m3 LNG carriers.

The total value of the six LNG carriers signed this time reached more than RMB 8 billion, which once again set the record for the largest one-time contract value for LNG carriers in China's shipbuilding industry.
So far, in the first four months of this year, Hudong-Zhonghua has received a total of 17 LNG carrier orders, surpassing South Korean shipyards and ranking first in the world.

This type of ship has a total length of 299 meters, a width of 46.4 meters, a depth of 26.25 meters and a speed of 19.5 knots. It adopts X-DF dual-fuel engine and is equipped with the latest generation NO96 Super+ cargo containment system of GTT.
These ships can reduce carbon emissions by more than 10 tons per day. The ship's EEDI meets the requirements of Phase Ⅳ, and the energy consumption index, environmental performance and reliability have reached the world's top level.

In December 2021, the ship obtained the certificates of GDA and PCA issued by ABS, BV, LR and DNV.

The joint shipowners of the project include CNOOC Group, China Merchants Group and NYK Line.

The project is also the first time that Hudong Zhonghua cooperates with China Merchants Group and NYK in the LNG carrier project.
