On March 29, China Development Bank Financial Leasing released its 2021 annual financial report. Benefiting from the recovery of the shipping market and the substantial increase in the scale and profit contribution of ship chartering, CDB Leasing's performance improved significantly last year.
 
CDB Leasing's 2021 operating income increased by 20.6% and annual profit  increased by 20%.
 
According to the annual report data, in the year ended December 31, 2021, the operating income of CDB Leasing reached RMB 23.316 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.6%; The annual profit was RMB 3.922 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.0%.
 
In terms of ship chartering, the asset size of the segment increased by 39.2%, and the pre-tax profit increased by 336.3%.
 
At the same time, it has rapidly expanded its shipping capacity. By the end of 2021, the number of vessels in operation reached 224, of which 79.9% are operating chartered vessels.
 
As of December 31, 2021, CDB Leasing managed a total of 224 vessels in operation, of which 179 were operating chartered vessels, including 151 bulk carriers (another 24 vessels were under construction), and 26 product tankers (another 18 vessels were under construction). 5 ships under construction, 5 ships with deposit paid and pending delivery), 2 LNG ships; 45 financed chartering ships, including 29 container ships (another 2 ships are under construction), 8 bulk carriers, 4 product tankers, 3 LNG ships and 1 passenger cruise ship (joint chartered).
