On November 2, at the tanker shipping and trade dinner held in Athens, Greece, the selection results of the annual world-renowned tanker industry award "Tanker of the Year 2021" were announced.

The tanker "Prospero" built by China's Wuhu Shipyard for Swedish shipowner Donsötank AB won the award of "Tanker of the Year 2021".

"Prospero" is an IMO II chemical tanker of about 23,000DWT. The ship has a LNG dual fuel engine, includes a hybrid electric propulsion system, and has also prepared shore power receiving equipment.

Its EEDI under LNG mode is 4.44 grams-CO2 / tonne-mile, which means that it has far met the low-carbon emission requirements of IMO. The ship will be delivered in the near future this year.

It is worth mentioning that another listed tanker "Live Knutsen" is also made in China and classified into DNV. "Live Knutsen" built by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) for Norwegian shipowner Knutsen is a 152,000DWT shuttle tanker. The ship was delivered on November 3, 30 days in advance.
