According to the latest data from Alphaliner, Evergreen ranks first among global container shipping companies in terms of the number of ships it has ordered.

According to the data, Evergreen has a total of 83 ship orders of approximately 686,800 TEU, accounting for 47.8% of its existing fleet, and it has the largest number of hand-held orders based on the number of ships. Calculated by TEU, Evergreen ranks second after MSC.

Among the world's top 10 shipping companies, MSC ranks second in the number of hand-held orders, but has the highest increase in capacity. The company has ordered 54 ships with a total of 925,900 TEU, and hand-held orders accounted for 22.1% of the existing fleet. Although Evergreen has a higher number of orders, its capacity is not as good as that of MSC, which shows that MSC mainly builds large ships.

CMA CGM ranked third in the number of orders, with a total of 51 ships of 561,000 TEU, and orders held by the company accounted for 18.2% of the existing fleet. Wan Hai ranked fourth in the order of 42 ships, with a total capacity of 253,400 TEU, accounting for 60.4% of its existing fleet. The fifth place is COSCO SHIPPING Group, which holds 32 orders of 585,300 TEU, accounting for 19.9% of the existing fleet. However, in terms of capacity, COSCO SHIPPING Group ranks third in the world.

Yang Ming is the one with the lowest orders among the top 10 shipping companies, with only 7 vessels of 83020TEU, accounting for 13% of the existing fleet.

At present, there are 6,283 container ships in operation, with a total capacity of 25,130,300 TEU and approximately 301.7 million dwt. Among them, the total capacity of the top three shipping companies Maersk, MSC and CMA CGM accounted for 46.1% of the global market. The 4th to 10th places are COSCO SHIPPING, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Evergreen, HMM, Yang Ming and Wan Hai. The top 7 companies have a capacity of more than 1 million TEU.
