China Shipbuilding Trading, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding successfully held a signing ceremony for 10 7000TEU container ships with Seaspan, a subsidiary of Canadian ATLAS Group.

The 7000TEU container ship signed this time was designed by SDARI. It adopts the SEALION series of new-generation medium-sized container ships, with a total length of 272 meters, a width of 42.8 meters, and a structural draft of 15 meters.

This type of ship meets the requirements of EEDI Phase III, and meets Tier III emission standard, and is equipped with a scrubber. It is a highly efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly container ship favored by the market.

The Canadian company Seaspan is a shipping company under ATLAS Group. It owns 201 container ships of various types, including 70 newbuildings, with a total capacity of approximately 2 million TEU.

This signing is for China Shipbuilding Trading, Jiangnan Shipyard, Hudong Zhonghua and Seaspan to cooperate again after signing a contract for the construction of 6 15500TEU container ships at the beginning of this year.

Up to now, Waigaoqiao has a total of 22 orders for this type of ship, ranking first in the world.
