China's first proposal for unmanned ship trial report adopted by IMO xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-08-19 16:45

The official website of IMO officially released the unmanned ship trial report proposal (Report on MASS trials) completed by Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration. This is the first unmanned ship trial report proposal adopted by IMO in China.

The field of unmanned ships is an important breakthrough for China to realize the "curve overtaking" of the system construction in the shipping field. The proposal was adopted by IMO, marking a solid step taken by China in participating in the legislation of international unmanned ships.

The proposal is based on the trial practice of unmanned ship "JIN DOU YUN 0" hosted by Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration. It also lays a solid foundation for the establishment of a safety supervision system for the normal navigation of autonomous ships, and contributes to the promotion of the commercial operation of autonomous ships. A useful exploration was made.
