On May 6, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry held the signing ceremony for the 307,000 dwt VLCC 5 vessel with desulphurization scrubber, which was built for China Shipbuilding Trading.

This ship is a new generation of highly competitive brand ship independently developed by DSIC. The length of the vessel is about 333 meters, the width of the vessel is 60 meters, and the depth of the vessel is 30 meters. It belongs to the unlimited navigation zone type, with a range of more than 25,000 nautical miles and a design draft of 20.5 meters. It can normally load 2 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Malacca.

Its energy saving and environmental protection characteristics are very significant. An independent desulfurization scrubber room is installed at the stern of the chimney, and the hull profile is equipped with a more energy-saving G-type main engine and a new large-diameter high-efficiency propeller.

The ship was docked on January 16 and began its sea trial on March 31. The underwater mooring period is only 74 days, and it will return home on April 9 after completing all the sea trial tasks.
