Driven by high freight rates and high demand, Evergreen Marine, which will welcome 30 new ships this year, is expected to become a big winner.

Evergreen will take delivery of 30 container ships this year, adding 257,800 TEU to its fleet, data show.

In the first quarter of this year since the announcement of shipbuilding plans, Evergreen is also the most active, ordering 20 15,000 TEU container ships at one time, increasing the capacity by 300,000 TEU.

According to Alphaliner, Evergreen's fleet currently has a total capacity of 200 ships with a total 1.331 million TEU, ranking seventh in the world.

Meanwhile, Evergreen ranked first among the top 10 shipping giants in terms of order volume, with 74 vessels of about 704,000 TEU, accounting for 52.9% of its existing fleet.

Upon full delivery of the order, Evergreen's capacity will further increase to 2.035 million TEU, making it the world's fifth-largest container liner, ahead of ONE, currently No. 6 in terms of capacity, and Hapag-Lloyd, currently No.5.
