On the evening of April 15, China Merchants Port disclosed the announcement of the performance increase for the first quarter of 2021 -- it is expected that the net profit attributable to the shareholders of the listed company in the first quarter of 2021 will be about 468 million yuan -- 590 million yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 212%-294%.
 
On the same day, CMPort also released the business volume data announcement in March 2021. In March, the completed throughput of the company's container business reached 11.431 million teu, up 27.8% year on year. The throughput of bulk cargo business was 55.622 million dwt, up 59.5% year on year.
 
From January to March 2021, the total container throughput was 32.263 million TEU, a year-on-year increase of 27.7%; The bulk cargo throughput was 143 million DWT, a year-on-year increase of 32.4%, achieving a good start in the first quarter.
 
China Merchants Port said that the substantial growth of its performance benefited from the accelerated recovery of domestic economy and the recovery of international trade demand, the port and shipping market continued to improve, and the cargo throughput of coastal ports across the country achieved steady growth.
