On April 7, Shanghai International Shipping Institute released its report on China's shipping prosperity in the first quarter of 2021.

The report shows that in the first quarter, CSPI reached 117.92 points, entering a relative prosperity range. CSFI reached 165.08 points, a record high.

In addition, according to the survey on the planned capacity increase of shipping enterprises in 2021, 45.22% of shipping companies plan to order new ships this year.

Dry bulk transport enterprises improved significantly

The overall operating conditions of dry bulk transportation enterprises have improved significantly, and CSFI has continued to rise and reached the highest value in history.

Container transport market continues to be positive

Although some empty containers have been returned to Chinese ports, the shortage of containers continues.

According to the survey, more than 80% of container transport enterprises believe that the shortage of empty containers will continue for more than 3 months, and "one container is difficult to find" is still a big problem facing the industry.

China's shipping industry will recover in the next quarter

Overall, shipping companies are expected to continue to improve in the second quarter.

It is expected that the business booking volume, business volume and business charge prices of shipping service companies will increase, and corporate profits will be better.
