Hong Kong Port throughput stumbles in February hongkongmaritimehub 2021-03-19 08:33


Container throughput at the Port of Hong Kong totaled 1.039m teu in February. The latest figure reflects a year-on-year decline of 10.4% compared to February 2019.
Drilling further down into the figures, The Kwai Tsing terminals handled 914,000 teu, slipping 3.5% from the previous figure 947,000 teu recorded a year ago. The midstream operators suffered a much greater decline with a throughput of 125,000 teu, a fall of 41.3%.
The cumulative figures for the first two months of 2021 show a 2.4 decline over the same period in 2019 with a total of 2.523m teu.
