Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of CSSC, has signed a contract with SBM Offshore to build Fast4Ward® "Universal" FPSO hull 4 (MPF4), the first of its kind in the world.
This type of ship can meet the marine environmental conditions in West Africa, South America and other regions, and can be customized according to the needs of the project.
As the world's largest FPSO operator, SBM has an important position and international influence in the international offshore oil and gas field, and is an excellent partner of China State Shipbuilding Corporation and Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
Both parties have established a good cooperative relationship with the Fast4Ward® MPF series project as the carrier.
Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding delivered the MPF1 and MPF2 to SBM Offshore in 2019 and 2020, and the MPF3 is under construction.
