Tianjin Southwest Maritime has ordered an additional 93,000 m3 VLGC in Jiangnan Shipbuilding, increasing the number of VLGCs ordered in Jiangnan shipbuilding to six.

Jiangnan Shipbuilding was able to further consolidate its position as the world No.1 in the VLGC construction market.

The latest VLGC, which will be delivered in 2023, will be managed by Sinogas Management, an affiliate of Tianjin Southwest Maritime, and the contract includes an alternative order for another VLGC.

Although the price has not been announced, ship brokers estimate the new vessel will cost about $75 million to $76 million.

The ship will adopt the Panda 93P design of the fourth-generation VLGC independently developed by Jiangnan Shipbuilding, which is currently the world's largest dual-fuel VLGC.

This ship is equipped with a MES (MAN B&W Energy Solutions) latest-generation dual fuel (LPG as Fuel) main engine. In addition, it is equipped with a shaft generator driven by the main engine, which minimizes overall emissions during future operations.
