Shanghai ZhongGu Logistics Corporation said it plans to sign contracts with Chinese top shipyards to build up to 12 4,600TEU container ships and reserve the option to order up to six of the same type of ships. The total price of all the ships will not exceed 4.5 billion yuan.
The construction period is expected to be 2-4 years.
ZhongGu said that the investment in the construction of new ships is aimed at building a highly economic and competitive container transport fleet, constantly enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise, and consolidate the company's leading position in the domestic trade and shipping market.
