On January 4, the groundbreaking ceremony of CSSC Changxing Shipbuilding Base Phase II project was held on Changxing Island, Shanghai, marking the start of the overall relocation project of Hudong Zhonghua.
 
Hudong Zhonghua's new plant site is located along the south coast of Changxing Island in Shanghai, covering an area of 214.6 hectares with a total investment of 18 billion yuan.
 
The first stage is planned to invest 8 billion yuan, with a planned construction area of 460,000 square meters, forming an annual production capacity of 6 special ships, and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2023.
 
The new plant will organize production according to the modern shipbuilding mode, aim at the world's advanced shipbuilding mode, and form dislocation competition with the existing domestic large ship assembly base to guide the transformation and development of the domestic shipbuilding industry.
 
Changxing Shipbuilding Base Phase II project will apply 5G+ Internet dispatching, robot welding, Internet of Things operation, etc., to build the world's leading intelligent and digital shipbuilding enterprise.
